Gardiner’s career spans 40 years at both major accounting and consulting firms. He specializes in tax and HR consulting including work assignments in Germany, the UK, Hong Kong and Japan. He has been a volunteer firefighter since 2001 in Orange County, New York and is a fully-trained first-responder for pumper, ladder and rescue operations.
In addition, he has served as President of the Tuxedo Park Fire Department since 2006 as well as a Commissioner of the Tuxedo Joint Fire District, since 2007.
Gardiner’s department responds to approximately 300 calls every year including structure fires, brush fires, vehicle accidents on local roadways and the New York State Thruway, gas leaks, electrical hazards, downed trees, water and ice rescue plus community service calls.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California, New York and New Jersey as well as a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). His other service roles include:
Chair – HR Certification Institute (HRCI), the oldest and a leading internationally recognized independent certifying organization for the HR profession.
Treasurer – Augustus Saint-Gaudens Memorial, founded to preserve and exhibit Augustus-Saint Gaudens’ home, studio and estate.
Advisor – SYPartners, a consultancy dedicated to helping leaders transform their organizations, their teams and themselves.
Advisor – New Jersey-New York Trails Conference, dedicated to preserving recreational hiking opportunities and representing the interests of concerns of the hiking community.
Gardiner is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
